Cole Wilson is a 5-foot-8 tennis player for the Georgetown College Tennis team. He is from Richmond, Kentucky and attended Model Lab High School. He started playing at the varsity level for Model when he was in the fifth grade. Even though he was barely taller than the net, he regularly beat high school-aged players who were more than a foot taller than him. “He’s a tenacious fighter on the court,” Model coach Melanie Smith said. “I’ve never met a high school kid who plays with as much heart, soul and passion for the game.” Wilson helped the Patriots win a region title and reach the team state semifinals in 2014. In 2017, he advanced to the third round of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association. In 2018, Wilson played in the 11th Region singles championship and got to the quarterfinals of the state singles tournament and was named to the Kentucky High School Tennis Coaches Association All-State Team.
