Duke University's men's basketball team, the Blue Devils, is a powerhouse in NCAA Division I basketball, playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) under the guidance of coach Jon Scheyer. They are one of the most successful programs in college basketball history, ranking fourth in all-time wins. With five NCAA championships, Duke is tied for fourth place with Indiana and UConn, behind only North Carolina, Kentucky, and UCLA. The Blue Devils have made 11 championship game appearances, placing them third in history, and have reached the Final Four 17 times, tied for third with Kentucky behind only North Carolina and UCLA. Remarkably, all five of Duke's championship titles were won after the NCAA introduced the shot clock. Duke also boasts an NCAA tournament winning percentage of .755, the highest among all teams. Duke players have won National Player of the Year honors 11 times, and the program has produced 71 NBA draft picks. Duke has had 36 players named All-Americans a total of 60 times, and 14 of them have earned Academic All-American recognition. The Blue Devils have won a record 22 ACC tournament titles, as well as 19 regular season titles. Prior to joining the ACC, Duke won five Southern Conference championships. Duke has been ranked as the AP poll's No. 1 team in the nation seven times and holds the all-time record for total weeks ranked in that spot with 135 weeks. Additionally, the Blue Devils have the third-longest streak of consecutive appearances in the AP Top 25, with 200 consecutive polls from 1996 to 2007, trailing only Kansas's 231 consecutive polls from 2009 to 2021, and UCLA's 221 consecutive polls from 1966 to 1980.
