Sebastian was created in August 1957 and typically leads the University of Miami football team as they entered the field before games. Since the 1980s, when the Miami Hurricanes became a national contender in college football, Sebastian has been one of the most famous and recognizable college mascots in the United States, even though most people think he is a duck or just a random bird.
