This was the fourth edition of the World Series, and the Cubs dominated the Tigers with their pitching and aggressive base running. The series was scheduled for two games in Chicago, three games in Detroit, and one game in Chicago (if necessary). The location of the seventh game, if needed, was to be decided by the league office. After the first game ended in a tie, the series did not move to Detroit until Game 4.
