The last game of the 1970 NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers is considered by ESPN as the greatest Game 7 in finals history. Willis Reed, who had a severe thigh injury, made a surprise appearance and scored the first two field goals of the game, limiting Wilt Chamberlain to only two successful shots out of nine attempts. The Knicks led by 24 points when Reed left the game with three minutes remaining in the first half. Walt "Clyde" Frazier took over and scored 36 points and 19 assists to help the Knicks secure a 113-99 victory and their first NBA championship.
