Any Saturday down South is sure to be heated. But an LSU-Alabama game? That’s something else entirely. If we were to pick the perfect college gameday, this blue-blooded Tide-Tigers matchup has legs. With championship potential on the line, a dual love of top talent and classic power football, and decades of resentment on deck, the LSU-‘Bama showdown is always vicious. But this game proved even more of a dog fight than usual. With both teams undefeated and ranked in the top five, analysts predicted 2019 would be the “Game of the Century.”
BEST CELEBRITY ENDORSEMENT
While making our way down south, the Vintage Brand Team scored a win before the game had even started! Both SEC Nation and ESPN Gameday were on the pregame scene that day, with ESPN accompanied by guest picker Justin Thomas. Currently the fourth best golfer in the world, the reigning FedEx Cup Champion and an Alabama grad, Thomas donned his own personal Vintage Brand hat to represent his boys on the Crimson Tide. Talk about a great celebrity endorsement. Although analysts were calling that day’s results a coin toss, Thomas stood behind his alumni team for the win: “you know you said something about a coin flip but… the funny thing for me is that my coin seems to be two-sided.”

Speaking of celebrity sightings: the already-packed 100-thousand seat stadium (with over 50-thousand watching outside) also received a visit that day from President Donald Trump himself with wife Melania. The Team spotted a crowd of extra security while they passed out 3,600 free koozies to fans — sadly, the Secret Service agents couldn’t accept any freebies while on duty. As we made our way through the tailgating scene, our feelings were confirmed: there’s just nothing quite like the hearty spirit and deep-rooted loyalty of fanatics in the deep South.
